God sometimes gives us unexpected gifts. Our gift has been a grandson who enlivens our lives and makes retirement very different than the one we anticipated. He is a special joy. And that's "Casey." In 2006 we fulfilled our dream of living in Italy for a year. It was every bit as wonderful as anticipated. This blog begins in 2005 as we prepared for that experience. Since then we have explored many places together. That's the "Travel." And finally, I am a person of opinions--spiritually, politically, on just about anything and that's the "Other Stuff." Welcome to my blog.

Obama and Me by Casey

A quick link to Casey's newest blog entry. It fits in here well and I think you'll get a kick out of it.

Jane - loved Casey's post - I will leave him a note in a minute - but the picture he posted with it blew me away! He looks about 18! You have to stop feeding that kid!

Jane - you must be so proud. What a wonderful young man.....I've left him a comment. I hope one day he will come back to Italy and help other young people be more aware of the world around him.
...and thanks for the wonderful writing you have been doing. Let's hold good thoughts for the 4th!

much love from Laurie in Torino

Hi Laurie, Yep--we are proud of Casey. He is a very special young man. And..thanks for the nice words about my political focus these last few weeks!! I hope we get to see you again--somewhere, someday, somehow.

Judy, Casey this morning "I can't believe that I look 18." See what you have done? And yes, he does eat a lot for a 10 year old!
