I know I have been absent lately and haven't written much. But, really it isn't due to laziness. I have been trying to pull together a 17 day trip to Croatia while we spend two months in Europe next summer--most of the time in Italy--surprise!
For some reason planning has not been an easy task. My only consolation being that my friends who have gone before me say it was one of the hardest trips they have planned---a relief as I thought it was age.
So, at this moment I am taking a break from eye-poppping internet searches trying to find the perfect inns and B and B's and the series of endless e-mails back and forth across the world. I want to share with you something that has brought smiles to me lately.
During our wonderful year in Italy there were so many lovely photo opportunities that I began a "picture of the week" segment. Today I am resurrecting it as I love the charm of this picture which is now my desktop.
This is the view from my kitchen window here in San Diego. I melt into it sometimes and just dream.

It's a lovely little hideaway...I'm sure it is the home of some garden fairies.
Me, too.
Jane - lovely photo. I am jealous. We're getting another 20 - 30 cm of snow right. I'm California dreamin' . . .
But, Jerry, is it pretty? I remember waking up in the morning to the overnight snow and it was spectacular. Of course, when it came time to leave and drive to work, that was different!
After straining my eyes for a few minutes, I think I found the bee!:) My Italian friends used to go to Croatia for the weekend and they say the beaches are amazing! Wish I had jumped on it when I had the chance.
Joe, congratulations. Really, when it is a bigger picture, it is easier to find. I am looking forward to Croatia. We wanted to go when it was still Yugoslavia but didn't.
Yes, I love this photo. Thanks :)
