God sometimes gives us unexpected gifts. Our gift has been a grandson who enlivens our lives and makes retirement very different than the one we anticipated. He is a special joy. And that's "Casey." In 2006 we fulfilled our dream of living in Italy for a year. It was every bit as wonderful as anticipated. This blog begins in 2005 as we prepared for that experience. Since then we have explored many places together. That's the "Travel." And finally, I am a person of opinions--spiritually, politically, on just about anything and that's the "Other Stuff." Welcome to my blog.

Wow, she is incredible! What a gift she has! I loved the look on the judges and audiences faces before she sang and how it changed after she started singing.
Thanks for sharing this, Jane.

Hi Jane, Beautiful!! I watched it three times and I also listened to her sing Cry Me No River which was linked from this video. It made my evening! Thank you so much for writing this great post.

It's so completely heart-warming. One of the great things about the Internet is bringing this woman to people all over the globe!

She did an amazing job. It annoys me to no end though how everyone keeps stressing her 'attributes'. Who care that she is unemployed, has never been kissed, etc. Move on and celebrate this for the happy discovery that it is.

Jerry, I totally agree with you. I guess that people are happy when they see the underappreciated becomes appreciated and valued. The diamond in the raw is discovered sort of thing. Her wonderful voice is no more or no less majestic because of her background.
