God sometimes gives us unexpected gifts. Our gift has been a grandson who enlivens our lives and makes retirement very different than the one we anticipated. He is a special joy. And that's "Casey." In 2006 we fulfilled our dream of living in Italy for a year. It was every bit as wonderful as anticipated. This blog begins in 2005 as we prepared for that experience. Since then we have explored many places together. That's the "Travel." And finally, I am a person of opinions--spiritually, politically, on just about anything and that's the "Other Stuff." Welcome to my blog.

Looks like an agricultural sprayer, maybe for rows of trees or big bushes.

Im not sure what that is - but tell Jeff and everyone that all is well here. Im jealous of his trip to Pompeii. I also have a ton of pictures of Eric to send you. Take care and hello Casey!

R2-D2's father? ;) Great shot, Jane! (No clue what it is, though!)

It looks a bit like a 'fogger' that they use on vines.

looks kind of willy wonka-ish to me. oh if only it was full chocolate... the insides of a gas tank

Texas Espresso--that is exactly what it reminds me of--Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I laugh each and every time I see it. But--Judith and Jerry are right--it's a vine sprayer. If you look closely you can see all the little spray points.

Valerie, yours was a great guess--I knew there would be some real thought put into this.

We are just back from Pompei so am a little behing on the blog stuff.

David Hart thinks it looks like a worn out CTA rep

Dave, you win the prize--that's if there were one. Ken will e-mail you tonight with what it might have been. You are much too funny!

I am convinced that I won this non-prize! They may be using it for vines where you are, but I bet it is also used in orchards.

Please non-send this non-prize to me.

Judith--the non-prize is in the mail--the Poste Italiane, that is, and so, without a doubt, you are certain to receive it some time--forse.

Poste Italiane is non-sending indeed!

It has to be a wine blending machine!!! It must be used by the vitner to blend differing vintages for this years best, etc.
