Looks like an agricultural sprayer, maybe for rows of trees or big bushes.

Texas Espresso--that is exactly what it reminds me of--Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I laugh each and every time I see it. But--Judith and Jerry are right--it's a vine sprayer. If you look closely you can see all the little spray points.
Valerie, yours was a great guess--I knew there would be some real thought put into this.
We are just back from Pompei so am a little behing on the blog stuff.

It has to be a wine blending machine!!! It must be used by the vitner to blend differing vintages for this years best, etc.
